I really would like to try a silhouette painting. I have see a lot of beautiful paintings like this that combine a very colorful and interesting background with a dark image. Some of the backgrounds I have seen have been realistic and others not. I think the contrast and use of light makes the paintings really interesting. Auguste Edouart is one of the most famous silhouette painters and he was born in 1789. He mostly painted people and did not use as wide of a color scheme as modern painters today use. He mostly used black, white, and brown.
