Edward Hopper

Edward Hopper's painting the Long Leg, is a prime example of solitude. The deserted beach and the unattended sailboat really bring the feeling of being alone. Although there is a sense of loneliness, this painting brings about a feeling of relaxation. The colors he chose depict what seems to be a nice beach day with the sense of sunlight and warmth. I like how detailed the painting is, it makes it feel very realistic.
