Henri Matisse

I chose this painting, "Luxe" because it really stuck out to me.  It looks very different compared to other paintings that have clean strokes.  This painting loots like the artist painted with dots, which is called staccato brushstrokes.  I also like how he went from dark in the bottom right and then fades to light going towards the top right.  He used expressive colors, which made this painting stand out to me more than the other paintings that I saw throughout this article. I also liked how this was a landscape painting and not a self portrait.
