Edward Hopper

This painting is called Automat, created by Edward Hopper in 1927. I chose this painting because I think it best describes the feelings isolation and solitude. The way Hopper uses the color black as the main focus of the painting gives it an eerie feeling. Surrounding the intense darkness there is a lonesome figure sitting in solitude. After researching Hopper, he clearly depicts solitude and isolation in several of his paintings.
