Fauvism

I found Henri Matisse to be the most interesting artist in the article. Based on the fact that he was the base inspiration for the fauvism movement, which then went on to influence other abstract art styles such as cubism. Also that he became a painter because of a sickness early on in his life, beauty comes from tragic or bad events in life. After searching for his paintings I found "the snail" to be the one that caught my eye. Mainly because this work is so different from everything else around it in that if I hadn't seen the name I would have no idea what this painting was of.
