Henri Matisse

Henri Matisse Luxe, Calme, et Volupie (Luxury, Calm, and Desire) 1904
I chose this painting because i think it is what fauvism truly stands for when it comes to color. The use of color in this painting is wild, vivid, and eye catching. The use of simple brush strokes to make up the figures and atmosphere is genius and provides nice texture to the overall piece. My favorite part if this painting is how Henri captured the suns reflection is all the objects, and the vibrancy of it. This is truly a masterpiece.
