The painting I chose by Henri Matisse is the Luxe,
Calme, et Volupté. This painting really stuck out to me because of his
use of colors and how the texture looked. I noticed in his work that he quite
often uses vibrant colors. I found the article to be very interesting and
educating because I was unaware of the Fauvism Movement. One thing I found
interesting is that Fauves stands for “wild beasts”, which was an allied group
of French painters that all had shared interests.
