The painting House by the Railroad is my favorite painting by Edward Hopper. It really caught my attention when i first saw it. I like that he uses realism in a different aspect. It doesn't have to be an exact copycat of a photo or human but your own interpretation of what you see that still looks real. He really enjoyed impressionism and captures the shadows and lights on this painting beautifully.
