After
viewing both images, I chose Artemisia Gentileschi version of the painting. I
think this painting is very engaging due to the realness of it. This painting
seems to have more realistic features and brings out more emotion. The lighting
and contrast used in this painting really exemplifies the emotion of Judith and
the anger she felt to decapitate him. The contrast of the dark empty background
really makes this painting come to life. I think it really brings out all of
the features/gestures and really just shows the importance of this moment.
