Caravaggio

Caravaggio was considered a great painter. He used his many talents to get himself out of trouble which he was constantly in, as we saw in his documentary. I chose this painting because it is very unique. I believe it's second in the serious of his David and Goliath adaptation. This image shows Caravaggios severed head being tied up by David. This shows that instead of Caravaggio turning himself in, he metaphorically offers himself up to some sort of justice. Showing that he is aware of the crime by his open eyes and how sorry he is. Caravaggio was known to use light and dark to his advantage and bring more emphasis on his severed head and the hands tying him up.
