Bank of the Seine was painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1887. Before looking more into his painting, the only Van Gogh painting I knew and loved was starry night. His technique with the color schemes is seen in many of his landscape paintings. Although I love the colors in Starry Night, I love this painting because I would have never guessed it to be a Van Gogh. I especially love the realistic appearing stream of water and his use of natural colors. The clouds in the sky are also as realistic as the water. Overall, I think it's a beautiful painting.
