Paul Gauguin

Paul Gauguin was a French post-Impressionist artist. Underappreciated until after his death, Gauguin is now recognized for his experimental use of color and Synthesis style that were distinctly different from Impressionism. This painting is called Still Life with Three Puppies. It was painted in 1888. It is an oil painting, painted on wood. I chose this painting obviously because it involves puppies and I love dogs.Looking at the painting, the puppies seem almost a normal size. But when put in perspective they are really small and are placed on a table.
