Michelangelo Caravaggio
Narcissus by Michelangelo Caravaggio was on of his many great paintings where he used Greek mythology and incorporated himself to create a whole new meaning to the story. This painting has a new meaning of Caravaggio finding beauty in himself and falling into the same trance as Narcissus did with the water nymph. Caravaggio uses his light and dark technique so that you won't see that Narcissus is looking at Caravaggio but at himself like the myth. Using dark and light colors Caravaggio brings out the importance of the subject.
