This Caravaggio painting grabbed my attention because I really liked the use of light and the contrast it provides to give the painting a very life-like look. You can see the depth in it and it makes me feel like it's in the room. Another reason I was interested in this painting was because it is not exactly the idealistic perfect fruit bowl. I like how he portrayed reality in it by wilting some of the leaves and making a rotting hole in the apple.
