One of the most famous Fauvist work, Matisse's Luxe, Calme, et Volupte (luxury, calm, desire), stood out too me when looking over the article. the piece was finished in 1904 and was expressed through color and detail. the people are not life like at all but it gives the piece a sense of art than realism. the color technique was mostly warm colors used and cool colors to portray the water along side the women on the shore of Paris. I love the boat and the picnic theme in the painting. the title definitely suits the collaboration of the painting. looking at the artist other paintings this one is really the only one that caught my eye and stood out the most.
