The painting by Edward Hopper I chose was "Automat". I chose this painting because it shows his theme of isolation and loneliness. It makes you wonder what she is thinking and why she is sitting alone at night. It's a simple painting that tells a story that you can create. There are many reasons she may be there by herself but it makes you imagine different scenarios in your head and I think that was Hopper's intention while painting this.
