The painting that I think depicts loneliness and isolation the best is "Office in a Small City". In this painting, the man is sitting alone in a large office with no personal memorabilia on the desk or on the walls. Although the man has a window to look out of, the city itself also looks lonely and desolate. The man is also sitting in darkness with only the natural light coming in. Even his face looks grim and sad.
