Vincent Van Gogh

I thought the video we saw in class and the discussion we had on Vincent's life was very interesting. It was interesting to see his lifestyle and how he chose to live, which was ultimately why he got kicked out of the church. The painting I chose that's by Vincent van Gogh is called "At Eternity's Gate" and the reason I chose this painting was because you can tell that this painting tells a story and holds a lot of meaning. I think this painting can reflect on Van Gogh himself, and the inner demons he was battling. Since in class we mentioned that he suffered from a mental illness, I believe this painting clearly depicts someone who is in distress and in some type of pain.
