Van Gogh

 I really enjoyed the movie clip that we watched on Van Gogh. I know a few paintings by him , but after watching the movie clip I realized on how much of an inspiration he was in the art world. The painting I chose is a self- portrait that he painted in 1889 and what caught my attention in this panting was his use of patterns in the background. He painted it in such a way that the background looks realistic and it allows the painting to stand out in such a unique way. Not only does his patterns stand out to me , but his use of color tones that he uses is just phenomenal. He uses all the right tones on the face in order for the painting to look realistic and his use of tones catches the viewers eyes overall,
