Paul Gaugin
After doing my research on Paul Gaugin I learned that his art wasn't truly appreciated until after his death. He was as a French post impressionist artist and was know famously for his use of color and synthesist style which is quite different from the impressionist era. The painting that stood out to me was The Yellow Christ that he painted in 1889. This painting caught my attention because when one usually sees a picture of Christ on the cross the colors are usually dark in order to convey the message of his sacrifice. However, Gaugin use such vibrant colors , but he's able to still convey the message and not lose the meaning of the sacrifice.
