Vincent Van Gogh

Although I missed the film in class on Tuesday, the painting I enjoyed most by Van Gogh is "Irises". I though it was very interesting to know that he painted this picture while he was in a psychiatric hospital. The use of color is very strong and the yellow background against the blue flowers makes the painting stand out even more. Compared to his other paintings which are much more dark in nature, the flowers give a burst of life.
